Hello, My great Uncle Boris Von Magnus was in the SS on the pat front. He spent a few years up there with the Finns. He said that they were crazy that they were very cunning and extremely good fighters. He mentioned hollowed out trees for ambushing, letting the Russians get halfway across lakes or rivers and then blowing the ice up from beneath them. He said he saw this happen on many occasions. Whole formations of men and equipment would simply disappear under the ice. To him they were best.
